Fall Fun in Yesterland

Every time we have made the drive from Shreveport to Dallas we have passed an adorable looking park that I couldn’t wait to visit. Yesterland Farm is like if your local county fair was in a permanent location with a lot more effort. They aren’t open year-round, focusing on the Fall and Winter months instead in order to focus on themes for each set of dates. We visited for the Fall Festival but I can’t wait to visit for their Christmas Playland or Late Summer Sunflower Festivals!

To be fair, Yesterland is much more enjoyable if you have young children, not babies. We went with our 6 month old which is a bit too young but still was a valid excuse for me to visit and take lots of fun photos. If you have kids, be prepared to spend the day here as they have over 30 different attractions from the petting zoo to carnival rides, maze, and pig racing. There is a ton of room to spread out and several different food vendors. You are even welcome to pack your own and have a picnic on the grounds!

Most of the attractions come with basic admission ($25) but if you want to do EVERYTHING, you may be better off buying the Super Pass ($42 online). This will get you tokens for Gemstone Mining, Pony Rides, and Apple Ammo for Cannons!

If your kids are a bit older, come later in the day for their “Spooktacular Nights” as well (hello creepy corn maze and clown fun house). I may be out of touch with “teens” these days but I think I would have had fun with friends here in my tween/early teen days. Especially with all of the insta-ready photo spots they have set up now.

We chose to leave the pups at home but they are welcome at the Farm and several families brought theirs. I think the only problem would be that the pets can’t go on the attractions so someone will always have to stay with them.pumpkin patch - lovelaughexplore.com

If you are in the Ark/La/Tex area, Yesterland Farm should be on your list of seasonal trips. If you need a bit of adult-friendly time to balance it out, head to some wineries on your way home! We stopped by the Green Goat Winery on the way back to Shreveport and it was the perfect way to end the day with some fun Texas wines and an amazing cheese plate!

PS. If you are a local, you can even rent some of their rides in the off season – backyard Ferris Wheel anyone?
