Peplum tops and pieces really came on the scene about 4 years ago and while they are no longer in the forefront, being somewhat replaced but a ruffle hem, they are still holding strong. I snagged this one last year on sale at Express but was happy to bring it out on a hot summer day.
This style can be tricky because if the peplum doesn’t start at the right point on your waist, it could end up looking more like a maternity shirt. This one cinches in at the smallest part of my waist before having just a little flounce out. I paired it with my favorite distressed denim shorts and lace-up sandals — both very popular right now and likely to stay that way as lace-ups head into their second season.
Is this a trend you have kept in your closet?
