The Meghan Markle effect is no joke, with everything she wears selling out in hours, but if you’ve been paying attention to her updated royal style, there are some key pieces that are easy to emulate. Whenever I see a belted trench or bateau neckline these days, she comes straight to mind. Going through the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale pieces, here are my top picks for a Meghan Markle inspired wardrobe.
Chic Statement Coat
She loves a good belted coat, she even wore one for their engagement announcement photos. She rocks such amazing coats that I don’t even think about the tops she may be wearing underneath, the coat is the look itself! I have never wanted so many coats in my life!
Bateau Neckline
She may not be able to show as much skin as she used to, but since the moment she walked down the aisle, Meghan has been bringing back the bateau or boatneck neckline and I. Am. Here. For. It. It may mean more strapless bras but she has shown me the elegance of this long forgotten cut!
Dresses
What with the stricter royal dress code, we have seen a lot more dresses on Meghan than in the past, and a lot more structured and feminine dresses hitting at a more “appropriate” (apparently) length for a Princess.
Shoes
Back in 2016, Meghan posted a photo of her closet which gave the hint that she likes point-toed heels and strappy sandals. It looks like her taste in shoes hasn’t changed a whole lot either! She sticks to classics and changes it up with the color and print instead of crazy embellishment.
It may be a bit more formal than the daily wear for the rest of us “commoners” but I am definitely inspired by her style for more elevated looks!
Happy Shopping!
