Ever the fan of a pleated skirt, this black (faux) leather one caught my eye. Leather pants & shorts have been a somewhat lingering trend but I just can’t get behind them for their impracticality in my opinion in both hot and cold weather. A skirt on the other hand is much more doable thanks to the natural breathing it allows to your legs.
I first wore this skirt in the fall before putting it away for winter but I think Spring is a perfect time to wear it because the skirt itself is comfortably warm while the weather is not too hot. Few things can give me an “icky” feeling faster than hot leather and sticky skin so wearing it in Spring (&Fall) avoids it all!
Since the skirt is a bit more masculine, I wanted to pair it with a softer embroidered “lace” top. The sheer maroon top is able to balance the skirt in both structure and material. A crisp white top would also be a standout choice against this skirt.
I love my hats and something about this fedora just took the look a bit more towards steampunk in a way, making me feel like a whole other person having a ton of fun. This is why I love clothes so much, they can transform your mood and mind just as much as anything when you find the right piece. Sometimes it can be fun to try a new daring piece and step a toe outside of your comfort zone! I’ve linked this exact one & some other choices for you below!
