As much beauty as Fall brings to nature, it doesn’t always have the same affect on my hair and skin right away. Everything starts to get drier and you have to adjust your whole beauty regimen (ok, maybe just a couple things). Living in the desert, I incorporate a lot of these year round to fight the dryness but just pump it up a bit more to really take care of my skin
- La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream
This cream is gold. It costs a small fortune but the results are amazing. Overnight this smooths rough spots, evens skin tone and red spots, and basically smooths everything. I am dying to get my hands on any of the other products in this line but they are really astronomically priced. Chrissy Tiegan and Kim Kardashian both rave about this line and what it does for their skin. - Sk II Facial Treatment Mask
This mask drenches your skin with hydrating ingredients. I originally bought them before my wedding last winter and I really felt like I could see a difference in the morning. My skin felt brighter and makeup looked even smoother. I don’t use them as often in the summer but I have another set of them coming for these rougher months. On nights when the husband is away, I sleep with the mask on to get the most out of it, and then i rub the extra liquid from the packet on my hands and chest - SK II Cellumination Mask-in-Lotion
This toner is essentially a light version of the mask that I can wear everyday under my moisturizer. It is light, absorbs incredibly fast, and never leaves my face greasy. Even on days where I skip makeup, I always want to use this. - Shiseido Brightening Emulsion SPF 18
The whole Shiseido line is fantastic. It is so important to wear sunscreen everyday but I struggled finding one that didn’t weigh my skin down or smell awful until this one. It feels so light and smooth and it works for my skin whether I am in Vegas or Florida. Sometimes, if I am lucky, I can pick it up for sale at TJ Maxx! - Dior BB Creme
I tried a lot of cheaper BB cremes before I became devoted to this Dior one. My face broke out horribly from Maybeline, Urban Decay, Cover Girl, etc. When the “BB creme” fad came on the scene I was so excited and then so disappointed by my results. This Dior creme is unbelievable. I have always had really good luck with Dior (I had my makeup done by them for all my high school dances and my makeup artist also used the brand for my wedding). This creme makes my face look (in my opinion) flawless. I can wear it for hours without my face feeling cakey or uncomfortable. In the summer I wear it less often in favor of a powder foundation but in the fall and winter, this is my absolute go-to for foundation. - Living Proof Dry ShampooThis is another one of those items that I experimented a lot with before falling in love with this one. Don’t get me wrong – Suave, Dove, and Victorias Secret all make nice ones, but this one really makes my hair FEEL cleaner as opposed to just looking it. I only use real shampoo my hair once a week so this is the perfect mid-week pick me up.
- Living Proof “Night Cap”
I was reading an interview Bobbi Brown (the makeup guru) did with Jennifer Aniston (the Living Proof figurehead essentially) and they were talking about how much they love the Living Proof line and Jen (as I like to call her…) was telling Bobbie how much she loves this nighttime leave-in conditioner. I’m a sucker for all leave-in products but this one makes my hair feel silky smooth without being greasy. Everything gets drier in the fall, to include our hair, so this is a nice fix. - Body Shop Body Butter
There is no better lotion for dry skin than the Body Shop body butters. I have been a loyal customer to these for almost a decade. Almond is my 100% favorite but I have recently found the Wild Argon Oil one to be nice. The Body Shop likes to discontinue the Almond one every now and then….No matter your favorite scent though, there is no comparing this lotion to any other in terms of dry skin and hydration.
Those are my must-haves (or at least always-wants) for the fall and winter. I know you may be thinking, seriously, you couldn’t make it a nice rounded 10? But I don’t want to add products just to add them. I wish I had a lip balm that I swore by but I bounce around those so often and my lips are as dry and cracked as anything half the time! Its awful! I am a face and body treatment junkie. I have so many different products I like to buy and try!
Also!! Today is the last day for the VIB20 20% off at SEPHORA! You can buy a lot of the items I linked above online there. They only have this sale once or twice a year so even if you don’t want my favorites, make sure to stock up on your own!
Have a great week!
