Next to skin, our teeth are what people notice right away when meeting us. In pictures, a brilliant smile is always sure to stand out and draw compliments. We have every product under the sun for skin care and every issue your skin can have, but when it comes to teeth, after brushing (and maybe flossing), we sometimes hit a wall!
For some reason, especially in summer, white, bright teeth are on my mind. Maybe its because everything else is bright like the summer sun and summer hair!
If you are like me and want to keep your teeth extra bright but don’t feel like dumping out cash at the dentist for professional whitening, here are some low-cost, low-effort tricks to keep your smile brilliant
7 days to keep your Smile Brilliant!
- Eat your fruits and Vegetables
A lot of fruits and vegetables can actually brighten your teeth instead of dulling them! Strawberries, pineapple, oranges, & lemons have a ton of vitamin c which brightens teeth. Some people say you can make pastes of the fruit and leave them on your teeth for a few minutes but I think I would just rather eat them. You can also rub the inside of the orange & lemon rinds on your teeth but keep in mind that while they have bleaching properties (ie. putting lemon juice in your hair), they also have citric acid in them which can wear enamal down so don’t overdo it. Apples, carrots, and cucumbers are all also great to eat when it comes to cleaning your teeth!
- Drink water
Water is pretty much an answer for everything. Drinking lemon water is great for your metabolism but because of the vitamin c mentioned above, it is also good for your teeth, especially if you drink it from a glass and not a straw so it gets all over your teeth. -
Watch what else you drink (& maybe use a straw)
Coffee, soda, and energy drinks can all stain your teeth and wear your enamal down. One way to help with this is limit how much of all of these you are drinking. Another way is drinking through a straw because it helps pass the liquids past your teeth as opposed to a full frontal assault. -
Eat dark chocolate with your wine
Brililant advice isn’t it? Wine (all wine) can stain your teeth but dark chocolate contains substances that harden the surface of your teeth, make them whiter, and actually help prevent staining! As if you needed another reason to pair these two wonderful things.

Chew Gum
There is a reason all the sugarless gums out there say “Dentist approved” etc., its because they do help you keep your teeth cleaner and brighter. Chewing gum after a meal helps get food and drink off your teeth that could otherwise stick around and stain your teeth or even lead to plaque and tarter -
Smile Brilliant Whitening Trays
Truly the best (& quickest way) to whiter teeth is through whitening kits like Smile Brilliant whitening trays. Unlike strips that slip off my teeth and leave my gums irritated, Smile Brilliant sends a kit to your house to make molds of your teeth in order to send you the perfect fit trays for your mouth, then, you just put the gels they provide into the tray for 45 minutes (or more) a day and fav fabulously brighter teeth. If that sounds like a long time, just think of it as your Facebook/Instagram time. When youre planning on just sitting there surfing social media, just pop in your tray and do something productive as well! If your teeth get extra sensitive, they even come with a special desensitizing gel to use after! That way you can eat your ice cream and drink your coffee without any discomfort! (because if you’re drinking coffee….you’re probably going to want Smile Brilliant too!)
I can’t help you on the wine and produce but I CAN help you on the whitening kit! Want to try them yourself? Use coupon code: love laugh to get $15 off trays
