This summer I was in Texas for work and planned a last minute girls trip to Vegas. Unfortunately in my 5 weeks of clothing, I had not packed ANY going-out clothes! Rent the Runway saved the weekend and luckily I had packed one pair of black heels (you should always pack black heels) and was able to head to my favorite site to order some fun sexy looks for our three days in my old home city!
I love Rent The Runway because you can get high end dresses (like this $1300 Herve Leger dress) for anywhere from $30-$100 or so! The options on this site range from casual beach party dresses to stunning formal ballgowns. The dresses can ship to you anywhere in the US — even directly to the hotel you are staying at! They overnight so you can wait until almost the last second to order (although that risks the dress not being available). For your first dress, you get an additional backup size free– and then your second dress is only $35 — even if it is normally more $$$, so it makes it an even better idea for a fun girls weekend.
A lot of times, the dresses you want to wear in Vegas aren’t going to be ones that are the most practical the rest of the year. Instead of spending $30-$100 on a dress you may never wear again, spend $30-$100 for a $1000 dress that you just mail back when the night is done. Your spouse will thank you for not putting more clothes in the closet too!
I picked these 3 sassy numbers for this fun girls weekend. They were all dresses that are different from anything I own back home and similarly ones that I just wouldn’t have a reason to buy, especially since we don’t live in Vegas anymore! The blue Herve dress was certainly my favorite and the black and gold one was one of my top picks for a NYE dress in this post!
I have no idea what I would have done if RTR wasn’t available. I probably would have spent money in a rush buying dresses I only half liked and would rarely if ever wear again. Instead, I spent just over $100 for 3 STUNNING gowns that made me feel fabulous and would have cost me over $2000 if I bought them individually! Rent the Runway seriously saved the weekend!
