Vacation Outfit Recap

Before we left for our vacation earlier this month I did a post about what I was packing for the trip. With the exception of a couple dressy options for a wedding and a show on our itinerary, I tried to pack simple separates in the same color scheme that would be easy to mix and match and wear easily. I thought I was packing light but there were actually a couple pieces I never even wore (namely the workout clothes, one dressy tank, a casual maxi dress, and my back-up wedding outfit). Lets see how you think I did!

You may recognize some of these outfits from previous posts. There may still be one or two posts to come! With the exception of the yellow top (a last minute choice), all of the outfits are really within the pinks-grays spectrum. The tops were all easily interchangeable with the jeans and skirts I brought. I was really proud that I was able to really only use 4 pairs of shoes between every outfit (the flip-flops (bottom right) don’t count in my opinion).

The gray dress made an appearance in both Israel and New York. In New York (left) I layered the dress with another gray shirt, to make it a bit warmer and also to drop the waist line from the original faux-top the dress already has. In Israel it was warm enough to wear the dress with just a hat by day and the cape-jacket to dress it up for evening.

I have to say, of all the looks I was definitely most cozy in the dress with the oversized trench. I felt like I was getting away touristing in pajamas it was so soft, flowy, and cozy!

One outfit I repeated in its entirety was the cage skirt with one of my favorite Portofino tops. It was such a functional outfit that looked just dressy enough for a night out anywhere.

My travel-outfit coat received a ton of use in New York, which was what I had hoped for, so I was really excited about that.

All-in-all I packed a few too many pieces to really need to continue to re-use pieces in new ways. My main goal was to have easy to coordinate outfits that were super comfortable and I definitely achieved that. Not once did I spend time fretting over the suitcase at a loss for what I could wear because all of the pieces would go together no matter how I paired them.

I will be living out of 1 suitcase for two months straight here starting next month so I will definitely be packing along these same lines so I can really stretch every piece to make several unique looks.

How do you think I did? What do you recommend I pack next time?

Xx
