When I started wearing my Great-Grandmothers fur coat, I thought people might look at me a bit sideways for wearing such a large coat of that material. Living in Florida and Vegas, you don’t see many coats and if someone wore that coat you would certainly notice. I remember having a fantastic leaopard print faux fur coat as a kid that I was barely ableto wear in the sometimes 80 degree winters of Florida.
What I discovered here, and especially when traveling to Eastern European countries like the Czech Republic and Hungary is that tons of people wear fur coats (and hats)! I saw calve-skimming furs (unsure if real or fake) at every turn – almost as normal as the puffer coats I have talked about. I love all of the fun colors and prints that you can get faux fur in right now. It has really inspired me to get another large fluffy coat that I can really sink into. Here are some of my top picks!
