Our Holiday Home

holiday-home

I love decorating for the Holidays but I am torn between putting things up and knowing I have to take them down. It’s the taking down part that really gets me because I am so lazy. I am sure one day when we have kids I will decorate even more but for now I have kept our decor to a modest yet chic theme.

Golds and reds are a favorite color combination of mine and I love how they fit perfectly into the holiday season. Instead of red and green I like to bring in more blues for Hanukah since my husband and extended family are Jewish. For me, the “Christmas Season” is about family, peace, and happiness more than anything else.

You don’t need to spend lots of money on extra decor, in fact, I used extra ornaments in a couple places in the house as decoration. I like that they keep the theme consistent throughout the house. I also used pieces I keep out all year round (I told you I like gold) like my candlestick holders and chargers because they fit in so perfectly.

I think one of my favorite new pieces this year is my silver reindeer. I love how modern it feels and plays off of my gold wire piece from Target (oh! how I miss Target!).

I have decorated the tree with the same decorations but this year I snuck a little extra “home” in with our Tampa Bay Rays sleds.

It doesn’t take much to really bring that Holiday feeling into a Home. I would love to hear how you all decorated your homes for the holidays!
