My week with Kim Kardashian’s app

image1

So you may have heard about the new Kardashian-Jenner apps that came out about a week ago. Regardless of what you think about them, they know how to make a buck. Apparently this app is already set to make the sisters over 30 million dollars.

I was curious so I decided to sign up for the free 7 day trial of the Kim Kardashian West app. Each app is a $2.99 per month subscription after that.

The majority of what she/her team post seems to be fashion and beauty tutorials and videos.

She posts pictures of her outfits, what she wore them to, what she liked about them and then seriously reasonably priced ways to buy a very similar outfit to wear. Like this $20 maxi dress!

even outfits you don’t really expect to buy or wear….

Even more convenient, the pictures are links that take you right to the site to buy the items.

Dangerous.

She posts life updates, like these pregnancy updates along with behind the scenes photos from photo shoots and trips she goes on. It’s interesting that for such an over-exposed star she is still able to share more information in a way that can make her fans feel like they know her even more.

In the beauty section she lists tons of products that she recommends from anything from face cream to lip stick to eyelashes.

Now, it starts out believable but the lists are pretty long so I kind of doubt she uses / has used all of those products. This may a bit more of her helpers doing work and research and posting it. Nonetheless, there are still several good suggestions and ideas.

I actually have the La Mer cream…and I recommend it to anyone. It is unbelievable.

It is pretty user friendly, you just swipe in every direction essentially for more information or options or whatever. If you re looking for something that was posted a while ago, it may take time to find it though.

Here is an example of how the options are laid out for you:

Want to know her thoughts on bubble baths?

Dying to know how she has perfected the art of the contour and what her secret is? Or other makeup tips?

I didn’t even know the word “strobing” existed, let alone was a makeup technique!

The app also lets you know when she is “live.” I don’t quite buy it being live but it is a video of her that day that goes away after a couple hours. There were several “streams” the day of the Yeezey show at NYFW.

The app will send you a push notification for every new post if you let it…but one day there were 11 notifications! That is a lot in my opinion.

Ultimately I found a lot of what they wrote/posted on other sites like People so I don’t know that paying for an app is all the necessary. That and honestly, I’m just not that interested in her life. It’s fascinating at times but I don’t need it at my fingertips.

Unfortunately, while I deleted the app off of my phone, I still got charged for the 1st month. Apparently I have to go in somewhere and unsubscribe. So I have an alert on my phone to un-subscribe again, but in the meantime, I guess I will keep it on my phone just in case I want to do any more research lol

Did anyone else get the app for any of the sisters? Are you judging me super hard for testing it out for you?

Xx
