We have taken so many trips recently that all of our travels in 2016 almost blend together! Europe is beautiful but I can’t always separate the rivers and castles in my mind. Sometimes it is a feeling or the atmosphere and people that endears me to a city instantly. I can’t wait to keep adding places to our list but for now, here is my ranking of the (major) cities I visited in 2016. I have added the posts I have previously posted for some of the locations as well!

While I wouldn’t discourage anyone from heading to locations 5-11, here are a few extra words on why I ranked the top 4 on top!
- Paris. Paris was the city I never expected to love. I feel like all I had heard before was about how rude the people are and how much they hate Americans. It could not have been farther from our experience. We really maximized our time there and saw so much but no matter how many times we saw the Eiffel, it never got old. This will be a city we return to.

London. I had been to London in 2007 when I graduated high school and I loved it as much this year (for the 24 hours I was there) as I did then. This city is just so much fun. It feels less crowed and overwhelming to me than New York and I just love the blend of modernity and history. There is still so much for us to do so we will be returning here again.
3. Amsterdam. The weather absolutely SUCKED the day we were here and I still couldn’t get enough of this place. The Van Gogh museum is up there with my top 5 and we barely made a dent in all of the things to see. The bitter cold kept us away from a lot so we will have to head back in warmer seasons.
4. Prague. This city was so beautiful and easy to walk around. It was the first city in Europe where I was able to find several restaurants with delicious Gluten Free and Vegan options on par with that of Austin, Texas. It was a bit harder for us with the dogs but it was still fun to experience the city as a “family.”
