Leopard Print – It isn’t just for kids

leopard print

I remember when leopard print was really big in middle school in every color imaginable. I may have had a few tacky (in hindsight) pieces that unknowingly turned me off to the print for a very long time. The thing about leopard print though, is it never truly goes away. It may fade in the background, popping up on a scarf or bag for a while, but it always comes back.

The way to wear this print without feeling like you’re back in school is finding it in the right cut and material. This top is just sheer enough to feel mature without feeling overdone and the raw edges add a nice detail. In order to keep things more sophisticated I paired the top with black denim and boots (always a classic look) and added just a pop of color in my bracelet and purse. There is always something in the back of my mind that is trying to tell me that anything animal print is juvenile but I have to tell myself (& you!) that it just isn’t so! When you keep the rest of the look streamlined and simple, this print can be as elegant, sophisticated, or fun as you want it to be!
