Horseshoe Bend

DSC_0619

Horseshoe Bend is a picturesque bend in the Colorado River by the town of Page, Arizona. The overlook is about a 1,000 ft drop and there are no rails or barriers. You can get as close to the edge as your heart may desire. Based on the time of day that you are visiting the river and rocks change color with different shades of red on the rocks and different shades of greens and blues in the river. We stopped here on a weekend trip to Page to see the Antelope Canyons (standby for a future post on those)  after about a 5 hour drive from Vegas. It was a gorgeous drive that ended with a gorgeous overlook.

I felt like I was wearing an “explorer” outfit for this small hike. I stuck to neutrals with a yellow cotton sleeveless shirt (Gap), my (minus the) leather jacket (Express), my skinny jeans from Arden B (no longer in business, sadly) which have lots of flex for hiking, and my cloche hat (Target) to bring it all together! This is not an outfit I would normally wear but it really felt like it fit the occasion! I really love the bow detail on the side of the hat.

Have you been to Horseshoe Bend? Is it on your “to-visit” list?
