High Tea – Mandarin Oriental

DSC_0231

This past weekend my mother and I headed to Mandarin Oriental for High Tea. It may not be something you think of when you are in Vegas, but if you are in need of something other than the fast pace and bar scene, this is a welcome change. It was a wonderful peaceful two hours overlooking the strip, drinking a pot of tea, and eating delicious treats.

They make separate gluten free treats for you if you let them know when you make the reservation or even when you tell them after you sit! The staff was so incredible and went above and beyond to make sure I had enough gluten free treats to take part in.

They made the sandwiches gluten free for me – one with salmon salad and the other black forest ham – and lots of macarons. At first they didn’t think they would be able to get me gluten free scones so they brought out a small plate of additional dishes like creme brûlée, chocolate mousse, and a citrus clotted creme cup. Luckily they were able to make the scones after all so I was able to have those too! They were well worth the wait!

Seriously, the scones were amazing. The food was just enough to feel content and not stuffed. I didn’t finish all of the sweet treats but we brought a couple goodies home.

The tea menu is pages long and it was so hard to choose. I would love to go back and try another tea and spend more time here. It was such a relaxing beautiful atmosphere, and the staff was flawless. It is truly a gem on the Strip.
