Giving the Cold Shoulder

cold shoulder

A lot of trends from the last year have stuck around and are even becoming more popular, like the “cold shoulder”. It’s funny because I remember having shirts in high-school with the shoulders cut out and here they are again!

I snagged this navy one on sale at Express because I loved the color and the simplicity of the design. I don’t like to combine too many trends into one piece and a solid like this allows lots of options for layering and jewelry. Since the top is slightly form-fitting, I can see myself pairing it with a flowy skirt as the weather warms up.

It’s a perfect top for spring but unfortunately I had to keep it quite covered up since it was still in the 40s when we went out. In the sun it warmed up quickly but as soon as we were in the shade, those shoulders were SERIOUSLY cold so I had to keep them covered.

I paired it with a GAP pinstripe cigarette pant and my trusty gold converse look-a-likes. A little trick – converse are crap for walking long distances in so I put gel arch support inserts into my shoes so I can keep on going for miles without any foot or knee pain!

Here are more of my favorite cold-shoulder tops from Express!
