From the land of beer to the land of wine

Bonjourno!

So today was a long day as I mentioned in my previous post. The flight to Milan sucked thank to the Italian man in the seat behind me who hit my chair every time he turned the page on his newspaper and book. For the entire 60minute flight. His hand would pound into the head of my chair with a constant rhythm and if the flight was much longer I would have freaked out. But all the same I got to Milan safely and Alessia and her brother and friend were there to greet me. Yay for friendly faces!

We hopped in her car and headed to Como. We stopped half way through to go to a super market so I could get some lunch. I got sautéed vegetables and Greek yogurt and a nectarine and water. A whole liter of water. And it was all under 5euro. Score. The liter of water I bought was cheaper than any water I bought in Germany that was even half it’s size. Then we headed to Como, the city on the lake Como. Also where George clooney lives. It was so pretty. We walked around the streets to see shopping and everything and then we decided ton take an hour boat ride around the lake. It was really pretty. Nice and sunny and perfect scenery. After the boat ride we got gelato. I had yoghurt with berries. The guy behind the counter had spent six months in Orlando for wake boarding training or something. Funny. Then we walked around the lake and I saw two swans with little baby swans. Adorable.

After. That we drove up to dinner at a restaurant overlooking the lake. My grilled chicken cost more than the awesome pizza that I wanted but obviously couldn’t eat. Ugh. I will find gluten free pizza here.

Then back to alessia’s house for the night. Her parents don’t speak english and I don’t speak Italian so it’s kind of interesting but they are so sweet and bought me gluten free gelato, bread, and biscuits. Really out of their way nice. Her mom also let me try some homemade limoncello…a super sweet and strong liquor. I can still kind of taste it. Lol. Well off to bed now..I have been awake for 22 hours otherwise this would be more detailed. … Sorry! Hopefully tomorrow!

Ciao
