We can only eat so many microwave meals as we stay in this hotel waiting to move into our house so we use that as every excuse to get out and see new things. There are several websites we are able to use to get an idea of what is going on in the local area and villages and so we decided to check out a “French Garden Party in Gartenschau Kaiserslautern.” Based on the website (mostly in German) I gathered that it was a festival with food stands and jazz music and they people were welcome to get food there or bring their own picnic baskets of food and booze. I put on my new slouchy european pants I bought at a market for 10 euro and my new flats and away we went.
Well, there was a band playing somewhat jazz music (it was good) but unfortunately there was not a ton of food I could have. Shai was able to grab a flatbread and I had a couple fruit and cheese skewers and a glass of sangria each.There were groups of people who brought chairs and full tables of cheese and fruits and wine. It would have been really nice to have a group and sit around like that.
What was most surprising though was the garden itself..it was massive with a putt-putt area, skateboard park, playgrounds, and….dinosaurs. Lots and lots of dinosaurs!
