Current Obsession – DIY Photo-booths

Photobooths are everywhere. I LOVED having one at our wedding. But not every event is a reason to cough up $500+ for that fancy booth (in fact, very few events are reason for that)20150118_022948

This is why my current obsession is the DIY photobooth.

I first dipped into the world of DIY photobooths with my Bridal Shower. I found a PVC frame “how-to” for $10 on Pinterest and had one of my bridesmaids build it for me and then we draped it with curtains and ribbons for the backdrop. I have had my Nikon camera for 7 years so all I needed was a tripod to set it up on and a remote that works with it. Amazon was more than willing to ablige me with those items.

I have to say, having it at my Bridal Shower was awesome and I really loved how easy it was.

If you arent able to build a PVC frame, you can just hang a backdrop or fill the area with balloons like I did for my friends Baby Shower and for one of our dinner parties (ok, so the dinner party backdrop was leaving some to be desired but our house doesn’t really have a great area to set it up in my opinion)

This past weekend we broke out the tripod and had another PVC frame built for my dads wedding. Everyone enjoyed it and it was so easy to set up and tear down!

I edit the pictures after the fact but if you want to print them right there I am sure there is a way to set that up too – especially if you have one of those new wi-fi enabled cameras!

I’m pretty in love with all the different backgrounds you can make when you do it yourself…I can’t wait for my next excuse to use a “photo-booth”!
